Care & Support

All families and individuals dealing with these chronic conditions deserve our community support.

Therefore we aim to achieve the following with the help of our community;

  • Provide support to individuals and their carers experiencing a significant impact to their quality of life as a result of Chronic Allergic Diseases and/or Chronic Skin Conditions.
  • Reduce feelings of isolation and improve quality of life through a number of different activities, services and networks.
  • Increase community awareness and understanding of these medical conditions and the impact they have on individuals and their carers/family.
  • Actively fundraise in order to provide this support to those in need.

Alternative Therapies and Medial Advice - Hands to Hold position statement:

We are aware that there are many options or avenues to treat or manage allergies and eczema, some of which may or may not be of interest or benefit to you.  However, Hands to Hold does not intend to give direct medical or treatment advice, but rather practical support and opportunities to share personal experiences.  We do recognise that chronic allergies & eczema are very complex and require a complete lifestyle approach.  There is often no quick fix at this stage. For treatment information or recommendations we refer to the appropriate medical professional bodies, such as ASCIA (Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy), Australiasian College of Dermatologists and the appropriate patient support organisations such as A&AA (Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia).  And ask your GP and specialist.  Seek independent medical advice.
